Your tasks

Searchmetrics, the pioneer and worldwide leader in SEO, is looking for a dynamic and experienced SEO Project Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with the leading search and social analytics software solutions provider to enterprise organizations, partner agencies, and the SME marketplace.

This role is designed to prioritize and push projects through to completion by working through our client's internal teams (Content, Merchants, Copywriting, IT/Front-End, CMS Platform). The ideal candidate will be at a client site in Alameda, CA, 3 days per week and remote two days per week with occasional visits to the San Mateo US HQ office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and prioritize all SEO projects including site architecture, content and linking projects
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive SEO initiatives from launch to completion, including Marketing, Ecommerce, Merchant and Copywriting teams to optimize and develop onsite content and improve internal linking structure
  • Contribute strategic insights into content planning, including recommendations around high search volume/high opportunity content topics, optimization of content for search engines, and guidance on securing strategic links from medium to high authority sites
  • Engage with stakeholders including merchant category managers to set and drive aggressive goals for customer acquisition through SEO
  • Work cross-departmentally to achieve goals and execute on tasks that are aligned with our client’s overall strategy
  • Perform research (keyword, topic, etc.) to identify areas of improvement and new opportunities
  • Act as an SEO evangelist by effectively communicating opportunities and risks across all parts of the organization
  • Execute local SEO strategies including optimization of local store listings through Google & Yext.
  • Stay up to date on trends in SEO and digital marketing
  • Facilitate SEO training sessions to internal and client stakeholder teams on the latest SEO best practices
  • Day-to-day project management of SEO campaigns and tactical execution, including:
    • Keyword research, analysis, and portfolio management
    • Identifying growth opportunities
    • On-site content optimization
    • Inbound link acquisition and optimization via strategic content development efforts
    • Establish, track, and report on SEO KPIs (key performance indicators) such as SERP ranking, keyword traffic, and sales performance

Our requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background and an intermediate (3+ years) SEO background with the desire to get deeper experience in the SEO space
  • Retail/eCommerce digital marketing experience is a huge plus
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional project teams
  • Understanding of SEO processes & prioritization
  • Extensive website analysis experience
  • Self-motivated with an ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deliver projects on time
  • Executive presence; a demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively across all levels of highly matrixed organizations
  • An action-oriented focus on quality output
